OK....the RS I am about to purchase, has a crack all the way across the winshield.

This will not pass inspection, my dad told me.

So where can I find a new replacement ? A Junkyard ?


And if so, how much for install ?

This is just one pain in the ass after another...but I keep trying to tell my parents, its a good car...it just needs some TLC.

if you have ins and you get a crack in the front windshield it gets replaced for free.. i got a crack in mine when i first got the car.

the roads here used to be made with seashells in them.. so thats where a lot of hte chips were coming from..

the road it happened on is now re paved and no more cracks..

they can be $$$ too so hope u find one cheap

what about if you buy the car, get insurance with glass coverage, and then make insurance pay for it. will cost you deductible of $200.

so the insurance company will cover that, even if it happened before I got the insurance plan ?

I have a friend who just replaced his because some @ss drove by his house and threw a block at it. Got it replaced for $282.14 including labor and parts. This was done by Safelite Autoglass, they came to his house and did it there, I saw the new one and if he hadn't told me I wouldn't have noticed cos it looks exactly like the stock windshield, seal and all. If you get it from the dealer, same glass will cost you an eye and a leg. Check the page at http://www.safeliteautoglass.com/ and see if they service near where you live.
