hood pins and hood springs? i seen em both for sale, and i dont know what springs would do. i know what pins are for, so pleez dont be a smartazz

I think the springs are the actual springs you put under the hood to hold it up just a little bit (like 6 inches open so people can see just a little bit of your engine)....for like shows and things....looks ok...hope this helped

Hmmm, Hood springs for an Eclipse? Well on all my old cars, they had little springs so that when you pulled the hood release it would pop up. They were also functional becuase on my old mucle cars the hoods weighed about 300 lbs and they were used as a shock absorber for when you closed the hood. I can't really see how they would be usefull on such light hoods as we have on our Eclipses. Also, the springs that people use for holding open hoods during a car show are usually a spring used in your suspension. Are you talking about springs the are THAT big or ones that are small enough to fit under a closed hood?

thanks for the reply, im askin cuz im in the market for new pins, and when i have been lookin at prices, etc... online, most companies carry pins and springs (hood).

just wanted to know what the diff was between the two.
