Sorry for the double post...just some tips on how to do it:
rit dye in the bottle seems to work pretty well. i used 2 bottles just for good measure. it recommends 1/2 bottle per 3 gallons of water. i just kinda eyed it...mixed it all up in a bucket. here is a good tip though: use an old sponge...a big one...and splotch it onto the carpet. i kept soaking the sponge (with the bucket in the car) then rubbing more into the carpet. for the vertical areas just wet the sponge some more keep rubbing it into those areas. after a while i had a small puddle in the middle of the floor that i just kept dipping the sponge in. after everything was sufficiently dyed i took some old towels and soaked up the excess. anyway carpets turned out pretty good...my hands on the other hand...

awesome... what color did you go from/to? also, did you dye the carpet inside the car, or outside?

I took the entire carpet out of my eclipse and used a professional pump spray dye called Color Match Carpet Dyes made by Car Beauty PRO, just sprayed it on and let it dry overnight color conversion successful with no mess!!!
Went from gray to black, I have no idea where you can get this stuff, my dad who does car detailing in NC sent it to me, he works at a Dodge dealership so my guess would be to search the net....good luck.
BTW the PN for the bottle i had was CD-5-Q Black
heres a quick link I found (1 minute worth of searching): http://www.prowax.com/dyes.html
but it looks like they only sell to dealers/distributors maybe someone has got got a dealer hookup.....
