Ok, I want to paint the center piece between the tail lights. I have been to five paint shops and none of them will paint it. They are all saying that the paint will not stick to the plastic. So I want to know how to paint it or what I can do to make the paint stick to it.

And has anyone convinsed a paintshop to paint it?

I know that I can paint it my self but I am after a more pro. finish.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

I don't have my rear middle painted but what i would do is go to one of those little "hole in the wall" paint shops that might do it.

thats ridiculous,ive had my center piece painted for over a year and a half with 3 12's vibrating the whole rear of the car and not a bit of paint has come off. if anything paint would stick better to plastic that to metal,not worse.

Did you paint it yourself or did a shop paint it for you. I went to two more shops today, they told me the same thing that all the others did. Macco wouldn't even paint it. Man these guys are starting to piss me off.

I filled the keyhole in mine and just primered it with white primer that i bought from Pep Boys. The body shop painted it and i haven't had any problems.

I painted mine myself. I've had it painted for about 5 months. No problems yet.

i got my shop to do mine. you could paint yours yourself, but you have to use a load of clearcoat to match the stock paints gloss. the better option would be to cover it in vinyl matching your car, that way its removeable if you need it to go back to stock later

If i remember correctly he fell off the face of the earth...I was able to talk to him once and then he jus dissappeared.

I painted mine with vinyl/fabric spray paint from Autozone.....i promise it matched perfectly with my color and didnt even scratch when tried puttin my key in the keyhole and missed....i urno, but it looked absolutely PERFECt....

shop did mine, matches perfectly, no chips or nothing after almost a year...wait a min- does that count from when i acutally got the car 9 months later? heh

me toooooo...and maaco did mine too....

how much did it cost to paint the center piece?

part of the body work, so i dunno, maybe $75 ?

I had mine painted by a guy on the side for $50 bucks... been 2+ yrs, not a problem or scratch... Looks just like a normal part of the body.
