14211, white pearl on red car?
Posted by EvMan2345, Feb-08-02 03:21 AM
Does anyone have any pics of a white pearl on a red car? is it possible to get a white pearl? any other colors have people seen on a red car that looked nice? or is a pearl more for a darker color car? I messed up my car, and since i have to paint the entire front of the car, i decided to get a new wing and paint the whole car, but i dont want to change the color, so im going for a pearl now...

From what i've been told it will make the paint look cloudy.

My friend was going to do it but the body shop talked him out of it.

I was thinkin of having some metallic blue flake mixed in to mine (when it ever gets painted) Red w/ blue sparkle in sunlight. :)

Pearl on DARK colors does not work, because it doesn't really stand out much. And if you tried to put white pearl on a black car, it would look funny, but you could put a purple or blue pearl on a black car (but it won't show up much). Usually, adding pearl to any color that is darker than mine is not really a good idea because you can't really see it anyways. On a red car, I think white pearl would look okay if you did a thin layer (not too much), so it just looks more reflective. You might be safer putting a red or violet or orange pearl though.

It's been done before, but red pearl on a lighter blue (not midnite) would stand out more. Like a baby blue with red pearl or maybe sky blue. You HAVE to see these colors in person on a car to really know what it will look like. Pictures usually don't capture the pearl too well.

It's hard, no matter what you do, it won't show up much. You can do a blue pearl. Honda preludes come in black with a blue pearl, but you can't really tell at all. Really not worth it to go through the trouble if all you want is the extra pearl.

Oh ya, my old stock color (magenta gray pearl) also has blue pearl in it too. You could see it in the light at an angle.

The body shop is what told him that. He saw it in person and said the same thing. It also made it look Pink.

I'm not a paint expert...just going by heresay.
