14104, taking door caps out Posted by Y2 e c l i p s e d, Feb-07-02 03:13 AM
Can anyone tell me how to take out the door caps? Do you think it is worth it just replacing them with some colored door cap if I can get my hands on some versus taking it to a shop and having them paint it.
thanks all

you have to remove the door panels and there are two nuts that hold it on.... I think it looks better but i suggest doing your mirrors too if they are not done...... look below at my caps and see how much better they make the car look

i think you may be a little confused. the door cap is the piece on the lower part of the door that comes with gs, gst, gsx. it makes the side molding look complete. it fits on the lower groove of the door. the part i think you are talking about is just the door handle

nice paint job man.... but you say it is only two bolts holding the door caps together. I can get my hands on two factory colored door caps at this part store. I think it would be better just to replace my black door handle with them then versus leaving my car at a shop and having them paint it. But my question is isnt the handle latch hooked to something after the 2 bolts or is it just the 2 bolts alone.
thanks
