yes.. on the turbo models the timingbelt coveris right under it so it needs the clearance.. and they just made all the hoods teh same

It's to clear the timing belt cover for the 4g. For our n/t no purpose.

Our cars are better looking that 95% of the cars on the road today, including new models like the celica and RXS, the buldge help the car look GOOD

plus when someone asks what the hood is for you can say, "it's for the power i'm packing." lol. I told someone that here and he was like "i ain't racing you"

Ya well this here shows how fuckin stupid that Satan is. I asked someone there what is was for and he tried telling me thats is where the turbo goes. And I was like WTF man the turbo runs off exhaust gas so it goes onto the headers. He told me I was wrong and we got into a big argument over it and he told me he knows because he sees the engines of these cars everyday. The guy got fired, I wonder why?

Also are your sure that it is there for cam gear clearance on the 4g63. If thats is why wouldn't we have one on the passenger side for cam gear clearance?

It was for cam clearance on the 1G with the 4g63. The hump got carried over to the 2G because it really helps define the Eclipse and Talon.

The 2g Eclipse IMO is simply the best looking import out there.
