no it is woven threads of carbon covered in clear laminate,its not metal, so it cant rust. you can paint carbon fiber,but why would you,if you want a body panel to be lightweight and you are painting it, stick with fiberglass http://www.geocities.com/blue2gnt

yeah carbon fiber looks great and its pretty damn expensive so i dont really see the point of painting it.
