well, i dont have my ride, but i can dream. i have a full blitz kit, primered, and i want to learn what i need to do about painting it and installin it.

i have taken off the stock bumper b4 and put it back on.

should i put the new bumper on and roll w/it for awhile, unpainted, or have it painted, then install it?

what kinda prices have yall paid just for the front bumper to be painted? i got a quote for 250ballpark from one body shop out here.

the thing i am worried about is the mountin holes for the bumper. do i use the 4 that are on the frame, or only the 2 on each side by the wheel well? or all 8?

if i were you, i would put it on first, to make sure it fits well. then get it painted. 250 just to paint the front bumper? thats kinda high. what about the rest of the kit? btw, are you selling your stock sideskirts?

yea sean 250 is nuts.. if you can do the prep work your self.. so u know its smoooth and they just have to spray it.. if not let them do it all..

my first bumper i had i let them do it all and they didnt sand down some spots that needed it.. and they charged 140 to paint it.. wasnt to bad..

i wouldnt roll around with a unpainted bumper it looks bad dont do it mang..

but make sure it fits first.. my front end is held up by just the 4 bolts on the corners..

and its find.. them lil metal things that would hold the bumper renforcement hold the kit up some too.. but i chucked my lil bracket for them 4 top bolts a long time like a moron.. so i couldnt do nothing about it..

but it should be fine..fiberglass is so light ud be surprized

Yes, definitely install and drive around before you paint so you can see where the stress points are. Use the 5 bolts on top where you open your hood, and one in each fender. Zip ties in the fender is an easy way to do it. My friends that take their bumpers on and off a lot just use zip ties instead of screws. Also, if you can install it yourself, I can get it prepped and painted (excluding any fiberglass modification, just bondo) for 200. If it's perfectly sanded and everything, probably about 160 to 175 depending on if they have to do anything extra. Most body shops charge almost 400 to paint a front bumper. That's how much a guy payed me when he hit my front bumper because I got a quote, and it came out to 380.

yes I 100% agree with eclipse 804... put it on and drive the hell out of it and get the stress cracks out so it can be reinforced. You might want to wet sand any flaws out with either a 400 or 600 wet sanding paper. and you want to paint the bumper on the car so that it doesn't get scratched when you are trying to put it back on. Plus if it is tight and you paint it off the car you risk cracking the paint in certain areas

damnit sean, i just got my car back with the blitz kit on it.....we'll look identical again!
