i heard about this stuff. question is--will it hold a door cap on? i got one from wings west and one from the junkyard. the wings west one isnt as good and doesnt have the places for the grommets. its also a little heavier than the regular door cap. where can i get it?

Its called VHB tape. (Very High Bonding) Try a local sign shop.... Seriously , we use it alot on signs. And it is VERY strong, alot of times we use it on thin pieces of aluminum that are too thin to weld together. I had it on the bottom of my wing posts, and it was all but impossible to remove the wing let alone the tape. Its fairly expensive though. If you cant find it email me and I might be able to hook you up... More than likely WalMart and the such arent gonna have the good sh*t, theyll have more of a generic "double-sided foam tape" which might work but I wouldnt have to walk back down the road to try and pick up your d caps that just flew off!
