Hey guys, I'm thinking about painting my car this summer and was wondering if you could help me out with a few questions. I have a 95 Talon and right now it's that dark metallic green color, it has some pretty bad scratches etc etc so I know I want to paint it. The question is should I change the color or not. I was thinking of changing it to that BMW laguna blue color if possible. Also how do you think it would look if I kept it the stock green color but added some kind of pearl? I have never seen pictures of a green pearl car so I have no idea if this would look terrible or not. Also I was thinking of painting to the top the same color as the rest of the car instead of black how do you think that would look? Let me know!

paint the car with pearls can really improve you color if your paint is a solid color. You have to check into weather or not your paint already has pearls in it. If it does and you add another pearl it can change the whole color and you might not like it when it;s finished. You want to have a solid color and add the pearl to the clear coat. This way your car looks a different color in the sun and on an angle. I would repaint it a uniuqe color if you have the money. but remember you will have to paint the door jams also. Save your money and do it proper. don't try and get a cheap paint job cause that is exactly what you will get. try and stick with ppg or house of kolor paint. Eclipse 804 can answer any more on this if you need more info.......

laguna blue is a hot ass color.. that with a white pearl would be nice
i think if u redid ur car in green with a blue pearl it would look hella nice

One thing to consider about a color change is that you'll have to paint under the hood, door jams, trunk etc, which adds a lot of cost to it. If you want to keep your stock color, and add a pearl in the clear coat (not the paint because I'm pretty sure the paint already has pearls mixed in). Usually on light green cars, like a mint green, we put a white pearl. It might look drastic on a dark green car though. We usually don't add pearls to dark colors because it looks kinda weird. I honestly woulnd't know what color pearl to add to your car except for a white peral (but it might be too drastic). If you go blue pearl, it might look weird (same thing with purple). Gold definitely wouldn't work, and neither would red. I guess you "can" add a "Green" pearl to it so it just looks more reflective. It won't be very obvious though, but different than stock.

I wonder if you can add that shade sifting paint into a clear coat to make it have a lil bit of color change

Yeah I'm at a complete loss of what to do if I keep the stock color.. I want to change it but how much do you think it would cost and how long does it usually take? Thanks.
