Hey Marcus.... or anyone who may know...
I have always been told ur not supposed to mold fiberglass onto urethane because it will crack. But if this is true how does the Quwheels wide body work? cause they mold pieces onto the front and rear bumper. and those are both urethane. anyways I am just curious cause I wanna do somthing custom but I would like to do it molding urethane and fiberglass.

Well the Quwhees?sp car is supposedly falling apart.

It wont last.

jeff#1.. yes the quwhees body kit uses the stock 97 body.. so u would one need that body back.. then it does mold the fiber glass to ureatane.. its not good to do this..


there are 4 eclipses that i know of with the kit..

go with the kaminari if u want wide body.or do something custom mannnnggg...

but like most body work you do to a car.. if you abuse it .. it will crack..

the guy who painted and did allthe body work.. was like the rear adn sides are going to crack one day.. blah blah..

they are still perfect..

Ya fiberglass and urethane do not bond well at all. Urethane is flexible. Fiberglass is not. It WILL crack. The girl with the quwhees kit said her car was falling apart a while ago. And also, I think parts of the quwhees kit are not actually molded on, but just stuck on like wings west lip kits are. The main problem is the pieces not only attach to the metal body of the car, but also overlap onto the flexible urethane bumpers (and you know how easy it is to move and bend the stock bumper). Hope that explains some things.

well I talk to Erin alot on speedoptions.. she just said the place that did all body work did a shitty job.. and that part was cracked.. she said she wanted to get it molded.. then she wanted to sell it.. but now i think shes keeping it.
would u say molding it in would help some??

Molding it would make it even worse. If you try to make the front bumper, and fender one piece using a stock urethane bumper, it will crack really easily. No matter how good a job you do, I don't see that lasting up to daily driving (for a show car that is never driven, it might last though).

1st off don't worry I an NOT!!! getting the quwheels kits. but I wanted to make a somthing custom using urethane and fiberglass to make it easy on myself. oh well guess I'll have to find another way to do it.
