11881, Replacing Stock Fog Light Bulbs, Help!!!
Posted by Slow_GSX, Jan-11-02 05:53 AM
Can someone please tell me how to gain access to the factory foglights? Does it require that I remove the front bumper, b/c that would be pretty poor design on Mitsubishi's part. I've tried for hours with no success. Let me know how you did it. Thanks in advance.

No you dont have to remove your bumper. I read this in the manual, im shure youll find it, but if you dont have a manual, you unscrew the black plastic housing, there is a screw in the top, then you will have acess to yur fog lights, there are three screws i think 3, well anyways, dont undo those, there is one big screw all the way in the back that unscrews the whole thing then y ou just pull it out. = ) my instructions arent all dat great, but just read yur manual they have illustrations. Sux for me cuz I stripped the big screw on one of my sides and I cant take it out anymore, i dont know what to do

i had the same problem, but i stripped out both of mine. just take off the black cover then about 5-6 inches back on the outside of the foglight is a big phillips screw. undo that if you can, then pull the whole thing out. there are three small screws, undo those pull off the cover and your there. if you stripped the big screw then there are 3 bolts (i think 10mm) that attach the mounting plate that the fog light is on to the frame, undo those (you will probably need a swivel socket(sp?) to get to the top one) then the whole thing will come out. make sure you unplug it ;) then if you want you can take out the stripped screw with some visegrips, and replace them with some bolts that wont strip. and if you cant get the bolts out then take it to a local shop, thats what i had to do, wish i had some nice tools :(
