well you can use grommets for the time being. but eventually they will let some water in mine did..


mine are all shaved now.. but figure u have to paint the whole trunk and rear panels.. if u shave them off.. so if ur ever going to paint ur car .. that would be the time..

paint on the wing shouldnt be too bad.. maybe 100 at most ... eric said its primered.. hope its a good prep.. most places might charge less just to spray it

Mike, just to let you know, Cyan payed 800 to shave his wing holes. We'd probably charge 500 to 600, since you have to repaint the hatch and rear quarter panels. It's definitely not cheap. If you like the GTR wing, that would cover up most of the holes. But leave ugly holes on the sides. I wish I had gotten an eclipse with no wing. Oh well. BTW, I really like touring wings also, and I tried putting one on my car, but I thought the wing looked to flat compared to the curved rear end of our cars. Our cars are not as boxy as hondas. I would suggest looking for some pics on the internet because I've seen a few with the touring wing. Good luck.

800 is a lot to do them holes.. but i understand why.. because you have to paint a lot

well for my car
i payed 1700
to put on the kit, mold the sides and rear in.
shave the door handles, antenna and holes from stock wing
plus the paint light silver with a fuchia pearl..

he also painted the middle tail and mirrors.

so i feel i got a good deal.. the paint could have been better though but the body work is greattt.. hes a mini trucker

Wow, that is a REALLY good deal. What kind of paint did he use? Just for a paint job, we charge at LEAST 1800. Or did you only paint the exterior? Shaving door handles is about 400, shaving wing holes without paint is about 300 to 400. It adds up quick.

well he painted the door molding cuz he molded it into them..

the engine and trunk molding were not painted..
but its all silver.. it matches pretty much.. but im getting away from show now and going twoard the turboo.. so i really dont mind..

oh and it was org 1500...

but then my side skirts didnt fit and he had to cut them

so he was like 1700 i said no prob man..

he told me 1300 to paint my boys kitted protege.. so figure i got a deal

800 is def a rip-off the shops here in ohio charge 300 to shave and 200 to paint so it comes out to 500 but if your mom has a friend back home who works at a shop he'll do all that and sand and paint your new street fighter front bumper and repaint your front fenders for that amount. ;) sure i got bad luck and get f@#ked a lot but i always got hook-ups to help me outta a bind. :)

Mike I got info for you I just talked to my friend. He said 50 bucks is cool cause he was never going to use it. I will snap a shot of it so you can see it. I guess it might need a little glass work done to it to finish it. So I will get a pic hopefully this afternoon so I can show you exactly what you are dealing with.

I got a guy with a red talon (same color) who said he will let his fiberglass APR wing (painted and all) to me for $220 shipped to my door! so I now am deciding between this from eric and this dood that emailed me. I think the APR would cover the holes up better, like everywun said.....

Do you mean GTR fiberglass wing? APR is the company that makes those expensive aluminum ones :)

roger what 804 said. if it's the GTR it will cover the hatch holes(i would put some jbweld or something that will prevent water from getting under the spoiler and getting into those holes and causing rust) but you'll still hafta get the sides welded and painted

well, now you gotta get your mirrors and handles painted when you get the sideskirts painted. i think the 95-96 ones look better without door caps

I had a touring wing for a while on my eclipse. It was my first wing. Looked tight, better than my GTR wing. Now i am wingless, but i want a GD 2000 black widow wing.
