11397, who makes a good "close to factory" front end? Posted by tim97rs, Jan-03-02 04:40 PM

Drift kit isn't bad...and looks kinda somewhat close to stock. There are some other designs out there but I don't know what they are called or even how to describe them. (hell, I only know of the Blitz and Drift kits by name.)

imo, the veilside and the stillen front ends look close to stock, but much nicer design, and lines.
i like the 97up front bumper tho, just needs a air dam spawla on it, and it would be perfect

Both the sensei series 1 and series two both are clean, basic looking bumpers.

97 Talon Fiberglass front end. $550 Canadian 8 lbs. I don't know what the stock front weighs but 8lbs is pretty damn light!

IMO, the veilside is the closest "to factory" looking. the stillen's pretty close as well. but if you don't want a dramatic difference, just get the chin spoiler like kory has.

closest to stock is the stillen. It's only difference is, the center mouth dips up some, it has flares around the sides, and has side holes or vents. Also, the fog light "squares" aren't needed, there is only a circle for the fog lights. It's basically a cleaner version of the stock front.

i went to stillens sight and the only pic they have is of one on a yellowish eclipse with a front end that looks like the smiley face front end. is that the on every ones taking about? also, i dont think the air dam from Mach V will fit my front end. if you look at the pic you can see how the bottom of the front end curves up in the middle starting in front of the tires. its an aftermarket front end that was replaced because the body shop f--ked the original one up during repairs. any ideas... you can see why i would like a new front. but if the air dam thing could fit i would take that...

WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!
TIM! I think I mite have a factory OEM replacement aftermarket front end too then! Holy shit i just realized it! Mine curves like urs too! dayam. Cause I have always noticed on Thura (avenger)'s car that his stock 99 front end looks more flatter where the mouth is than mine. I always just thought that it was because I have scraped it so much. VERY interesting......

I think the guy's name is Super20G on here. Check out his car. He has the stillen front. I think his name is Brad Rickard?

I have too much time on my hands tonight. You're lucky. I went back and found a post. Click here and you can see what the stillen looks like. http://63.99.108.81/dcforum/DCForumID16/2019.html

Thanks for looking that up 9D9.
Kaptain: i think that our front ends are supposed to be that way. Look at the link a few post up in this thread and check out the front air dam thing from Mach V. The peice looks as if it has a gradual slope to it, so maybe?????

just call this to kory's attention. kory has that mach v air dam. ask him if he had any trouble or what not. but IMO, that's a normal stock front end on the car in the pic on mach v, just like yours.

My stock front seemed kinda funny looking so I got under the car and the metal piece that runs all the way around the bottom of the front end had been bent because of how many times I bottomed out. I took that piece off and the front end looks straight now. Maybe thats the problem.
