Get supplies at a auto paint shop. But DON'T paint it yourself unless you have years of experience. It's a lot harder than it looks...

Its not THAT hard. You need access to an air compressor first(at least 30 gal.). If you can get a hold of one, a gravity feed HVLP (high volume low pressure) spray gun is the best to use. It drastically cuts down on overspray.
Just go to your local carquest or napa and tell them what you want (color) they will hook you up with everything you need, (base coat, primer, clear coat etc...) If you have good paint on your car and no MAJOR scratches or dings, you can just sand the shine out of your current paint or clear coat and use that for the primer (its the best)
otherwise you will have to use some bondo or filler primer over those bad areas and sand them smooth. If you are just sanding out your current paint I would recommend a 400 or 600 grit to completely take the shine out of your clear coat. If you arent sure about your skills, test the gun out on something to get a feel for the gun and the spray.

BTW I painted my own car twice (below is the first job) this was actually only the 3rd car I ever painted at the time. 4 coats of onyx black base coat and 2 clear coats.

I forgot a few details (too much to list) so if you have any questions just ask.
