10677, spoiler price install? Posted by rimrecker69, Dec-15-01 11:41 AM
I got a gst turbo spoiler I was gonna put on my car, anybody know what a good price would be? It would have to be painted and installed, and I guess they have to cover up at least the middle hole in the hatch left from the old spoiler. I know somebody has to have switched spoilers so anybody got a price quote?

I have a 98 Gs and changed the low spoiler to the turbo spoiler. the labor is more involved than you think. When I took off the spoiler there was 6 holes on each quarter panel and I think 3 holes on the trunk the one in the middle is bigger than a half dollar. So thats a lot of holes and a lot of painting. Luckily for me my friend works in an auto body shop and we did it together there. The first thing we did is sand all the holes and filled them with fiberglass. Then sanded till smooth and put a layer fo something else (forgot) waited till dry and sanded smooth. Then we put a final layer of putty and sanded smooth when dry. Then we fit the turbo spoiler and drilled the holes. Then after everthing was sanded the painter in the shop painted it for us. He painted the spoiler off the car and the trunk and quarters on the car, he did an ok job. It looks much better than the low spoiler I love it. I hope that helps my friend said If I paid full price it would be from $300 to 400 because of the labor.
