My 99 Avenger recently developed a problem with the wipers. I left for work, wipers worked fine. Got to work, thru a torrential downpour, and the intermittent wiper function no longer works. On intermittent, the wiper runs continuously as if on low. When I turn them off, instead of going to the "home" position, they stop wherever they are. Does this sound like a relay problem or is my wiper motor on its way out?

I took my cowl off and cleaned up the connector for the motor, cleaned up the grounds and such, checked the fuses, all to no avail. Still have no clue.

Could be the switch itself on the steering console, going out. Try, taking it off and test it with a multimeter. Part can be had for dirt cheap from a junkyard.

The problem isn't really in your switch, rather your relay. Witch I believe is attatched to the switch. It's not a common relay so you'll b better off replacing the whole switch assembly. If you don't have a spare, hit me up, I got an extra

I'm not sure if they are or not. I know that they're physically different, but I haven't checked the connectors.
