I'm looking into picking up another 2G but my only issue with the car is that it is silver and i'm more into dark colors. I want to have the car painted dark blue but wanted to know what paperwork is needed to change a cars' color? I know it may vary by state but I live in Jersey and heard a few years ago from a body shop guy that there's a lot of paperwork required whenever you decide to paint a car a color that's different from the original stock one. He was very vague about it though and it was a few years ago so i'm just wondering if anyone had any other info on this?

That's news to me. I'd guess that you just need proof of ownership, Title, registration, insurance :shrug

I've never had to deal with stuff like that here.

call your local tag, and title place. the registration and title just need to be changed. it shouldn't be more than a few forms though. that's all it was when i did mine. costs money for a new title and registration though. oh and you just need to inform you insurance company so they can update their info.

I think you do have to register it with DMV. Don't really know if you have to do anything else though.
