does any have pics of 95-96 headlights with the inside painted black? all the old threads have dead pics. i've seen a few with color but i'm curious what it looks like black.

thanks in advance!

x2, I've been thinking about doing this too. From what I hear it's really easy, but i don't know how the paint holds up to the heat of the headlights.

yeah i'll get a pic of mine up. right now it needs a bath and its too bright to get a good look at them.

honestly if you look at a 97-99 its the same just a different lens shape

i used FLAT black and the usual oven technique.
took everything apart and even removed the orange corner lens as well.
once you get the lens off it is fairly easy to figure out what to paint and what not to lol

best to take your time and get a nice even coat of black. i think mine had like 3 coats.

you can do a gunmetal look with a can of VHT lens tint spray and just even coat till it looks "black chrome" ish

This is the 96 I did. Rustoleum black (lol, of course). I did remove the plastics with the oven.

But don't mind the plastic shavings in there. I cut off the back of the housing :P

All 2G Talons had those same lights. Here's Daisy circa 2005.

This is how they look from the side circa 2006.

And this is what they look like during a minor blizzard in northern New Mexico during your last, epic, cross-country road trip in your beloved Talon circa 2006.

Funny, I was just planning on doing this tonight/tomorrow. I'll post up a pic or 2 of my Talon when it's all done...Blue car and I plan on painting the housings black.

You don't have to worry about the paint not holding up to the heat. I'll be using 500F high temp paint just because it's what I have. But if the lights don't melt a plastic housing, they shouldn't hurt whatever paint you use :)

Hmm....why not take a few pics along the way and hit the Wiki with it? Would be helpful to others....

Just an Update, I'm in the process of doing the "new" headlights for my 95. Taking tons of pics and working on a writeup for both the WIKI and the forum.
