103296, Power door conversion.....Need Help Posted by 95eclipse420A, Apr-12-09 10:31 AM
So i have a 96 rs, and I have installed the power windows and locks, and of course i have some problems. First problem is the locks work opposite of each other, so if one locks, the other one unlocks. Second problem, and probably the real problem, is that I think stangmurdera sent me mismatch parts. The pins on the door switches do not match that of the wiring, however the plug fits. When i plugged in the fuse under the hood for the windows, the wiring in the driver door, started to melt and smoke, and then the fuse blew. It melted what looks like the ground wire in the harness. So tell me what you think. I can prolly throw up some pics later today if they would help. Thanks guys.

I ordered mine through Stangmurdera, and I had no complaints. In fact he is the only person I recommend for parts :shrug
I would triple check your wiring and make sure nothing is crossed or touching.
Was it smoking in the dash, or in the newly door harness?
AFAIK all door harnesses/plugs are the same for all years.

There shouldn't be any wiring to be crossed. I simply swapped door harnesses. Everything just plugs in. And I'm pretty sure that the spyders were wired a little different, but I could be wrong. I will have to take some pics later, and show you the difference between the switch and the plug. And the smoking was from the door harness, which was in my hand when it started to overheat, almost burned my hand. The heat started from the switch.

Did you ever figure this one out?
Im curious as to what it could be.

NO, I'm still confused about it. My guess is that the switches and harnesses are different. What would help me out is a pinout diagram of the window/lock switches. Then I could just repin the plug to match the switch. The only thing that I really cant figure out is why the locks are working opposite each other. Any thoughts?
