Ok so I started out with some $18 set of ebay headlights/brights and they sucked - go figure for the price right? I guess I was paying more for blue color than anything else...well then I went down to Schuck's last week and bought, per their high recommendation, a set of Sylvania Silverstar mains (no brights though; still using the ebay brights) and they are a bit brighter but they still aren't even close to as good as the stock lights were a year ago before they dimmed down.

I used to be able to cruise at 80mph at night with the stock lights and feel safe - then this June I did the same cruise at 60mph and I was having trouble seeing in front of me so I knew I had to switch out the headlight bulbs ASAP. Then my car broke down and I didn't get it back on the road till November 25th or something stupid like that so that's why I'm just now troubleshooting the headlight problem.

ANYWAYS, I think the Silverstar's may be bright enough BUT they share the same problem as the ebay lights in that I feel they are simply aimed down too much, is this probable? Do I need to readjust my headlights to get them to aim upwards a bit more? thanks for the help guys!

I would say to start there.

Yeah, and if they still suck, rip the hid ballast out of an audi or something and get creative.

Get some Silverstar High Beams and make them fit in the low beams. Worked for me great.

depends on how there aimed really. if you keep em low then they will just be bright and you'll be fine

Don't know, but I have never been flashed while driving on the highway at night. Lit up the road nicely.
