10184, non turbo to 97+turbo spoiler swap. Posted by 1995GS, Dec-03-01 09:54 AM
The turbo "basket handle" spoiler only attached to the hatch part ot he rear. The stocl non turbo spoiler has 3 parts to it. The part on the hatch, and the part to the left and the part to the right.
Is the stock spoiler hard to remove? Is the new one hard to install?
Wont there be extra holes left over?? What to do about those?

It's easy to remove the stock spoiler. But it will leave holes, there is only one really correct way to fill the hole and that is to weld metal over them and then sand them and then after that is all done get everthing primed and painted. Some people use bondo to fill the holes but that will eventually start to get bend in and crack and all that good shit. Do it the right way if your going to do it.

can a normal body shop do that and just paint the small area and the spoiler?

Any good body shop should be able to do all those things with no problem.

yeah a good body shop should take care of it, i think you cna leave the outside holes though if your just swapping. i'm in a tossup between that stock turbo one and the nopi gtr flared one

I was thinking about switching my spoiler out to the GST fin, too. Only problem is i want to still have the LED in my fin. Is there any place where i can get that fin w/ an LED. I've only seen a spoiler like that once, so i dunno if it was custom or not...tnx

if it was the GST wing w/ an LED- it would have to be a small LED... maybe you saw the supra style wing w/ an LED- i've seen those around.

i did the wing on my rs sucked drilling holes into my hatch just in case if i would have messed up but mine wasnt painted yet i put it together then sent off to paint so if your car is still good just go to a body shop it will be worth it.
As far as to person who wants led still i believe i have seen them with them as well not supra style but turbo wing with them on a website, sure if you keep a eye out you can find them or get some sort of thing fabricated to work if your daring.
