101645, My 95 GS
Posted by imptrcr96, Aug-17-08 04:03 PM
I just bought this a week ago for $1300.

This was my first addition

I have a 97 front and the GST spoiler in the garage and some side skirts on the way. I'm wondering if I should get a 97-99 rear or a bodykit rear...

Nice start!

Do the 97-99 converson kit!

And when you get your new sideskirts, sell me yours.

Been looking for a set of 2ga's. I only really need the two bottom parts, the pieces on the door I will not use.

When I have the body shop take them off, I'll make sure they do exactly that.....I'll even save the box that my skirts were shipped in...

Turbo wing without turbo = Poseur or Ricer, take your pick.

Actually it will be turbo....eventually and the deal I got on it I couldn't pass it up.

what about the 10th anniversary edition? it came with a turbo wing

it was also a factory option on all 98-99's IIRC

I'm glad somebody remembers useless facts like that....it's things like that, that make people look like jerks. I guess I shouldn't put Motegi RACING wheels on my car cuz I don't race it, don't put a turbo spoiler on your car, it's not turbo, whatever....I've been on here since 2003 and haven't posted much, now I remember why. I've been out of the 2g scene for 5yrs and the only thing that has changed is the car got older. Thanks for the back up man.

take some time to aim those and I'd recommend using silverstar bulbs (or retroing in some HID's)

you'll be annoyed if you don't

This man speaks the troof. I got Silverstar ULTRA's on all my lights, including fogs, a little expensive but worth it when it comes to safety.

No, you'll annoy others if you dont. Its actually better to retrofit some real hid's and real projectors into stock housings. Now, if your projector lenses are glass, nevermind. Use those and check out hidplanet.com for a list of junkyard cars you can find hid's in.

Xenon sells kits on ebay dirt cheap. They make a god aweful noise at start up but they work.

is the lens smooth or freznel? do you know the color spread of the lens? how bout the reflector? is the cutoff correct for HIDs being used? is it sharp or unfocused? let alone the focal point of the HID capsol is in a different spot then the H3 thats in there.
just because there glass dont mean crap, there is a LOT more to an HID projector system then throwing in an ebay H3 kit into a crapy projector.
true, the best is to retro into the stock housings and keep the good high beam, however if you go Bi-Xenon then the high beam is moot, and retroing into the projector housing you have (removing and replacing the whole lens housing)
btw Audi A6 or Acura FX are the ones you need, and yes HIDplanet.com has the wiring diagrams avaliable so you can wire the Bi-Xenon function up right

I bought them from Terry (starturbotalon), they are the ones he had on his car, so really all I have to do is make sure they are aimed correctly. I know his reputation and he doesn't sell crap. But thanks for the insight guys, if I didn't know anything about these lights that would all be good info to have.

nah man that wasent aimed at you or terry, i just wanted to put in a caviot to what was said previously, so people think that just adding an ebay HID kit would be all you needed for a good HID set up.
thats all, didnt mean for a misunderstanding

That wasn't meant to be pissy, but some people on here think that we just slap random parts on our cars and don't care what it looks like or how it works. The info you gave was good, it was something I didn't know but thanks for the clarification.

Nice. And please stay away from body kits. That reminds me of my eclipse when I first got it. I got mine for $1500. A few weeks ago someone offered me $3000 for it and told them it wasnt for sale. Hooray for another silver 95 GS!

I will, I'm actually working on getting them off within the next week or 2. Now I'm kinda torn between getting some 2gb skirts or use the ones I bought.
