Anyone know a good place to buy some high temp paint? What brands do you guys recommend? I want to paint my new headers and want a paint that wont burn off or melt off. Thanks.

the highest rating on high-temp paint was like 1500 but i dont think that is high enough for the header... and im not exactly sure on the best brand.. but just go look at an auto store. they will have some..

thats high enough for calipers though right. I have a question, when you paint your calipers, do you have to take them off and let them bleed?

i dont know about the using that kind of paint on headers.. never tried it.. but about the calipers.. high temp paint works fine, mines been on for like 6 months now.. aside from being dirty, they look like i did them yesterday... and i did my pretty ghetto, cus i was short on time and lazy, i just taped everything off and sprayed them.. worked well, cant tell that the backs arent painted unless you take them off

you can accually get away with 500 degree paint on the outside pieces of the caliper assembly, but as i have yet to do the caliper itself im not sure but 1500 is way sufficient for the calipers... and i would recomend taking them off and bleeding the lines and such.. unless you really want to tape everything off, cause that paint can get anywhere... just make sure you clean it well before painting and such..

here are a few pics to check out..

yea, i have to admit, i would have prob saved some time if i had just taken the damn thing off.. but i taped everything off, and i hit it with the paint.. worked well.. but prob not as efficient as taking them off.

I just painted my calipers with Krylon extremely flammable paint. It cost 2 bucks from Wal-Mart. I didn't tape anything off...just used a paint brush.
That was 10 months ago and they still look perfect.
