hey i wanted to see how many of you are using fiberglass body kits and if you can post pics? I have a fiberglass blitz and its really warped, poor fitment etc... and wondering if ne of you have run into this? Did you scrap the kit or do the body work? If so howd it turn out? Was it worth it in the end? thanks

Next im thinking about getting stock bumpers put back on and wondering if theres somewhere i can look at pics of sleepers? Im trying to convince myself to stay away from body kits so im looking for a nice sleeper to build my car off of?
thanks alot

I picked up some fiberglass sideskirts since it was cheaper than factory and I like the look. fiberglass is damn fragile, I have some chunks taken out of one side from rocks, and a crack on the other side from my friend stepping on it getting of the car >.< its not big or noticable, but I notice it.

personally I hate the blitz kit, and Ive seen my friend accidently pull up to far in a parking spot and just annihilate the front bumper on a curb, and crack it from bottoming out while driving. the kit sits really low, and the eclipse rides so high it needs like a 4 inch drop to get close to the wheel wells.

my friends car with the blitz kit on it, I couldnt fit my foot under the front bumper, and it had some nice cracks in it just from trying to drive it.

What I plan to do is pick up this urethane front lip I found for 150 bucks, paint that and it should lower the front bumper and match up with the side skirts, be more durable, and have a nice clean look.

that's the RMDSM lip, looks pretty decent and can take a beating.

yeah thats the one. I would ideally want to mold it in since it looks alot cleaner, but I would worry about cracking the molding out. while I dont daily drive my car, I do like to drive it when its nice out :) so I probably will opt not to do that.

Kit: Bomex (authentic)
Mats: Fiberglass
Paint: PPG
*note: no sideskirts as i have a project going for those

i will tell ya that its a pain to work with as there is no flex at all and all your fitment has to be perfect or the stress will crack the resin over time.
its not uncomon to have little spider cracks after a while, or when you get attacked by a curb

bastards :P

from certin angles yes it looks wierd but in black it looks a lot better, plus after i shove an intercooler and foglights in there it will look better.

definatly one of the "Love it, Hate it" kits out there, but i like it and it has what i need for my application

I think it would look alot better lowered like 4 more inches.

yeah for sure :) I went with a whole tokico setup since they sell it at the speed shop here in chicago. the wheel gaps on these things are hard to get rid of. even with 18's and 225,40's its still more than I would like. and my sig has been moddified btw, lol I still have about an inch wheel gap.. photoshop ftw.

very fragile is how i describe fiberglass kits. my wife let mine roll forward in the driveway all of 3 feet and sent a crack all the way through it to the point of 4 more inches and it would have been comletely split in 2. i do like the way mine looked but i wanted to lower the car and the speed bumps in my sub division were too big to have both. i chose stock and drop.
