get the clips from the dealer . Expensive but thats the only ones iv found to fit .Then yes you can rivet the bottom or use self tapping screws

It would be better to use screws

if you go to the local car parts store, you might find some of the nissan or ford push tabs that will work for ya. otherwise your stuck with factory hardware.
i dont know if you will be able to use screws for every mounting point. either way, grab a tube of window urethane (looks like caulk) and run a bead around the whole panel before you mount it. this will keep the edges flush. be careful though as this stuff is a PITA to get off of anything you didnt want it on.

i have tried every single clip they had at numerous places and none fit good enough . Get the ones from the dealer and save the trouble . Its worth the 1.50 a clip

skip the clips. I tried them, it was more of a pain in the ass.
Use 3m body tape on everything, and self tapping screws on the bottom. I have had mine on for 2 years now with NO problems. They line up perfect and it was easier than drilling 28 holes in the car.
