101061, Adjusting Door Glass

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone had an FSM or sheet on how to adjust the windows on my car. I looked in the online one and in the Haynes, nothing about it really. Googled too, nothing relevant.

I just put power windows in and needless to say, the windows are quite off.

Thanks!

All I have is this really huge photo that may help you see what is hidden inside the door. This was a 98 GS with power windows and locks that I de-skinned for the photo.

Replace the .jp_ with .jpg to view.

Thanks!

That helps me understand it alot better.

Im hoping for something that will tell me how to adjust what for what symptom. The haynes says move the regulator, but it does not move that much at all.

When the window is up and the door opened there is a half inch gap at the back of the window near the door handle, it closes but you can tell there is tension to push the door away from the body, there is resistance to close the door too.

The passenger side window also goes up too high and is off at a slight angle.

I may call local glass shops, cant be that much if I bring it with no panels.

Or maybe a step by step guide on what to adjust first?

I dunno, lol :)

I'm having a pain in the ass with my drivers side power window as well. I was able to to fix it somewhat, but now the window goes up slightly too high and is slightly off so water/rain can get through the cracks. I've tried several different methods to fix it and haven't got it yet. Pisses me off for sure.

Note to self: if window glass is not fucked up to begin with, don't FUCKING touch it!

Hence prothane motor mounts = serious vibration = bolts/washers that hold window together vibrate loose = pissed off tired of trying to fix the piece.

my drivers side window is loose and when i shut the door there is a small crack. Way i solve it is that i just shut my door harder so that the window gets under the trim thing.

if it's loose you may just need to re-squash the retaining slides at the bottom edge of the windows. look on the main page I believe there's a write up on how to tighten them and fix window rattles
