100663, Is it okay if I ask for some body kit opinions Posted by EventsCo21XL, Mar-04-08 07:47 AM
Hey there everyone, well I just wanted to ask for opinions regarding a front bumper for my car. I love my 2GB bumper, but I need to replace it b/c it has major scratches on the bottom of it (Can't be helped LOL) and most importantly, for some weird reason, my drivers side sidemarker keeps falling out and I've already lost my left clear side lamp and my OEM one as well while I was driving. That's why I wanted to ask for some opinions on a bumper that would eliminate the sidemarkers. Here is the one I was looking at.

Now what I was thinking was that I could just shave off the little lip at the bottom so that it would not be so low slung and would seem to look like a stock front with bigger vents. BTW I have an RS, so I don't have to worry about having foglights and the foglights on that car look stupid anyways haha.
I would like to get an OEM bumper, but it just seems like this bumper is a lot cheaper compared to a Craigslist OEM replacement listing of $160 vs. $150 for this bumper(I can get the kit for cheaper at another site). I'm trying to factor in paint as well, seeing that I don't want to spend anymore than about $400 for everything. I've also already looked on Ebay for a OEM bumper with paint and it is a good deal, but I just don't want those sidemarkers anymore. Also I don't mind taking some time to shave and dremel the bumper so it fits correctly.
I just want some opinions on whether or not this bumper would flow with the rest of the car if I was to only install a front bumper. BTW I have the OEM 95-96 stock sideskirts with a 2GB rear end. You can see my sig for how the car currently looks, just imagine without the sidemarker LOL
Thank you so much everyone for all your help. I just want to make sure that my car stays nice and not become rice LOL. That's why I'm asking for everyone's opinion here. Thanks again

If I were you, I would think about putting on a Buddy Club 2 front and rear bumper. They look sexy with the stock side skirts IMO.

as for the sidemarkers, just shave them yourself. some fiberglass mat, resin and some time with the sanding blocks and body putty and it will look smooth!

nothing better than oem . iv had a few kits and there really not practicle for a eclipse . I had to remove my buddy club 2 cuz i could not get in parking lots without dammage and i lowered with the eibach pro kit . Any one with springs any lower ,u gotta be crazy to kit it . If your still gonna get a kit the bc2 is by far the best looking and fits the body lines the best also .

My vote is stillen (if you want to shell out the dough) or get an oem style off ebay for about $100 shipped. Several guys on here have them and are happy with them.

I got most of my front end parts from them, the 2gb bumper was backordered but this was almost 2 years ago. decent quality stuff at almost half what satan wanted. the alignment marks didn't match up so it took a little adjusting to get my fenders lined up perfect

I would recomend an RDORA front end and side skirts with your choice of rear end

You know, i'm looking at your car in your sig..... If you throw a kit on it god will kill a kitten.
Your car looks bad as fuck as it is from what i can see. Dont kit it.
edit: By "bad as fuck" i mean "hot shit".

Thank you all for all your help regarding the issue. I don't want a full kit, just a front LOL. Maybe I'll just get another 2GB bumper and shave the sidemarkers and fog light bezel areas for a different kind of look. Just gotta wait for my tax return to come back LOL.

That is what i would do if i were you. Your car looks super clean as it sits. If you don't like the sidemarkers, i would just shave them off of a 2gb front bumper.

What about if I did something like this with the stock 2GB bumper? The picture here is a modified 2GB bumper with shaved fog light bezels

I know that the nose have vents on it (Don't want those LOL), but these are pics from someone that shaved their 2GB fog light bezels. How do you think that the 2GB bumper would look while shaving the side marker lamps and fog lights bezels looks?
Thanks to all in advance again for all your help

Why change perfection? (mine after I went 2gb.)
![]()
But if you wanted to change, get a buddyclub 2 the only factory looking kit you can get.

Oh, i dunno about the bc2 being "as factory looking as you can get"
Stillen looks closer to it than anything else. The bc2 is ok though.

i was planning on doing this to my eclipse before i sold it. use your existing 2G front bumper and buy a bottom lip spoiler (i believe that is a term for it) that attaches to the bottom of the bumper. that way you still have the 2G look which is awesome to begin with but adds a little something different.

here's a link to what i am talking about.
