100262, partial black interior Posted by Star Turbo Talon, Dec-13-07 07:03 AM
I have all the black pieces that were used in a partial black interior (black/tan). My question is, has anyone ever seen a partial black/grey interior that had grey door panels with black inserts where the inner handle and switches are? I am looking for factory installed not owner modified.
On my sisters Talon ESI, it has the black dash and the rest of the interior is grey but i have no idea if it came stock that way or someone was going to install a black interior.
The only ones I have seen were all black.
These are the pieces I have and am considering installing.
Dash and console dash tweeters Plastic insert in the door that has the switches, door handle, and vent steering column/wheel Center vents/radio trim/cruise control trim
Its like taking the black and tan interior and swap out the tan for grey.

I have a set of those door panels sitting in my garage. Gray with leather armrest and has the black plastic trim around the vent/switches. These panels are commonly found in 98-00 Avengers and will fit on an Eclipse without issues.

Now thats interesting. I do have the eclipse panels and pieces, I wasnt looking for the parts but your telling me that color scheme came in the avengers? That is interesting.

Yes, any Avenger with a black dash will have the black pieces on the door panels regardless if it's gray or tan interior.

Thanks for the info, I really do appreciate it. now if anyoen has ever seen an eclipse come with it stock, i would love to know about that too. I have a feeling the eclipses were not offered like that.
My sisters Talon has a black dash only but i dont know if it was stock or not since her car is a base model esi.

All of the Eclips's i've seen with a black dash always have black door panels often with a gray armrest. I've never seen one with the gray panels w/ black bezels.

so your car has black doors with grey leather panels? Black or grey seats? Black or grey back seat panels?
|
100312, RE: partial black interior Posted by daes_venge, Dec-26-07 05:39 PM
Typically if the car has grey leather seats, the door panels will still be black but have the gray leather armrest inserts. And if the door panels are black, the rear panels are always black as well. I think the black panels only come on 98-99. I'm not completely sure on the Talon interiors. Oh, and if the car has black leather seats, the armrest inserts will also be black leather.

I was at a local junkyard recently and I saw a sebring with a beautiful grey and black interior. The seats, door panels, and everything were grey except the black dash, console, and door boxes(part with switches). I switched my car from grey to grey and black but I wish I had just gone tan and black now, I think it looks really good.

I think that it is just certain years that came that way (probably 97 up) because my avenger had the black dash with gray door panels with the black insterts, and it was 98. My eclipse is all gray though, and that is a 95.

100451, RE: partial black interior Posted by Star Turbo Talon, Jan-31-08 04:41 PM
Wow, complete grey door or does it have the plastic pieces in the door around the switches and door handle that are black? If you can get a few quick picts i would really appreciate it.
I have the dash, console and the black pieces that go in the door panel by the handle and I would almost kill to find a car where that came stock or a black dash setup with grey seats ect.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but the black dash started in 97 but was only available with tan. In 98-99 all dashes were black but had the option to have gray or tan with it.
98 is when the gray door panels with the black bezel started. I wasn't aware of those door panels being available for the Eclipse. I was under the impression that was an Avenger/Sebring exclusive. Just like black door panels were Eclipse exclusive and was never available on the Avenger/Sebring.
95-96 were an all gray interior. 97 started the black vents and switches but the dash was still gray except for the tan interior where the dash was black.
95-96 also had the brownstone which some refer to as tan but it is more of a darker brown color. Blue also exists but I have yet to see this color in person.

The Eclipse/Talon models that I've seen have come with tan/black, black/grey, grey/grey, blue/blue.
What you're thinking of is very feasible by simply taking the black leather inserts and other parts and implementing them into a grey door panel. If you can imagine it, the black plastic part on the door panel (including the AC vents) would continue to run into the full black dash, making everything flow consistently.
I personally have the all black interior, which was previously tan/black, but I can see where you're going with this. It'd look better on a silver car.

No.

100480, RE: partial black interior Posted by Star Turbo Talon, Feb-04-08 03:44 PM
Factory has done it in the Avenger and so far Jungy's boy may have one that was done like that at the factory. Just like the door panels that have the top black and the bottom grey I have a feeling there may be a few variations out there that we are not aware of.
Until this post, you would never have agreed that the talons had a 1/2 grey 1/2 black panel.

I talked to my buddy and that was how it came stock when he bought it in 1998 he said, sorry no pics tho. Since I've moved for school he sold his 2g to his brother and got a 3g(ick...but thats a personal opinion)

Many cars came with partial black interior. The issue is that some came with a Grey/black combo in the same manner as the Tan/black combo. How is this odd? This ass might want to find another board to frequent or do us all a favor and go swallow a handful of painkillers!
|
100970, RE: partial black interior Posted by daes_venge, Apr-17-08 06:45 PM
Has anyone seen door panels in this color combination come stock on any 2g eclipse/talon? That's the big question here!
