Hey guys, quick question. I'm gettin ready to dive into an engine make-over. I've decided to go with the Slowboy Racing EVO III Turbo, along with all the supporting mods. I just wanted to make sure I'm getting all the right supporting mods, and if I'm not, could you guys point me in the right direction.
EVO III Turbo SB 2G Install Kit GReddy 24R Intercooler Kit w/ Upper and Lower Pipes GReddy Type-S K&N FIPK 650 Ball/Disc Injectors Apex'i AFCII Walbro 255 w/ Rewire Apex'i N1 ACT 2100 lb
Is this everything guys, or am I forgetting anything? Any advice, comments, or help would be awesome. Thanks guys.

What car?
You will want to throw a new downpipe on there and some sort of high-flow cat as well. And some gauges.

it would be for a 95 GST. right right i know about boost and EGT. forgot to put those down. i have a 95 GST right now and i'm going to sell it, and with the money i get from the sell i intend to to buy hopefully a GST or GSX. i've had some difficulty finding GSX's, but it'll probably be a GST. if i do end up getting a GSX what else would i have to get? it'll definitely be a 2G either way.

also, this will a daily driver, so is going with a downpipe going to be ok, or too risky considering they are illegal in some states. i dont know the florida laws, so. and i thought downpipes elimite cats?

well its going to be a daily driver, and that seems like a good trim turbo to go with. not to mention i'm on somewhat of a budget and i dont want to spend alot.

downpipes don't eliminate the cat unless you buy one like that. and what do you mean you're going to sell your GST to buy a GST or GSX?

Wrong hobby to be in if you are on a tight budget for modding a daily driver. I'm not trying to be a dick but I would advise a serious reconsideration if you only have one car to drive and you will be modding it that heavily.
In order to make it fast and reliable, you need to have spare $. No way around it. Sorry to break it to you that bluntly. I'd love to tell you DSM's have a track record of holding up to heavy mods with ease for cheap, but they don't and even seasoned vets and pros break things over time. There are always little expenses so be prepared.
Best of luck.
I'd dtart with the Boost gauge, MBC, AFCII and go from there. Clutch as well. Get a feel for everything on the car and move on in small increments.

i meant i have a GST now, but i'm going to sell what i have now and with the money from that buy another stock and start from scratch. with the money left over i'm gonna upgrade the turbo plus all the supporting mods. and i understand you have to have money and i'm not saying i dont have the money to get everything. i'll have the money to get everything i listed and probably a little more. again, i thought im getting a reasonable amount of power out of this list for it to be a daily driver. from what i've searched in the forums many, many times, it just seems a 20G is overkill for a daily, and if the turbo is going to be $400 more? i'd rather stay with the EVO III

I just wanted to make sure you know what you were getting into. Alot of people just go in and get parts, then when somethign breaks, theya re out of cash and without wheels.
EVOIII tuned and driven well should be fine to daily drive, but just keep some extra cash lying around in case something unforseen happens.

if you want a daily driver, this is a good turbo to use. I'm VERY happy with this setup, I just recently did the switchover that are thinking about. I will give some reccomendations, though from my experience with the swap:
Slowboy does an EXCELLENT job with porting/polishing, so save yourself the headache and time and get it done now, even if it means putting the project off for a week or 2 to get the money. Trust me, a good port/polish job is WELL WORTH IT. While you're at it, if you plan on running any less boost than 18psi I also HIGHLY reccommend a 34mm flapper if you're on a budget. The stock flapper is not adequate for boost levels lower than 18psi---you will see crazy creep/spike.
Also, if you're on a budget you can put off getting the larger diameter lower IC pipe for the front mount, but you are going to want it eventually. Don't forget to factor in the cost of a logger (pockelogger or something even cheaper is fine on a budget, mine has been great) and stay with an MBC. You will also need access to a dremel to grind down the step on your exhaust manifold and to trim the front bumper/fascia.
Have you modded your t-25 at all? you should definitely get a 3" turboback exhaust of some kind, including the downpipe and high flow cat or just a test pipe. I'm running a test pipe right now and am very happy with it---no problems yet! (knock on wood!) YOu may want to start getting these "supporting mods" for the t-25 now and wait alittle bit on the 16g.
If this is the first time you've done this try and pick a time that you can be without your car for a while, it will take you longer than you think, but doign it yourself is well worth it!!!
feel free to IM me with any questions you have along the way, and remember: WHen something goes wrong with the car, this board is here to help! Hybrid saved my butt on 3 separate occasions, and without his help and reassurance i'd probably be in a sanitarium right now. :bowdown
don't forget that you're doing this because you love the car and above all, have fun!!!
Matt

p.s. go with the GSX---I truly wish I had

all that stuff you listed +guages will be fine for that set-up. I have basically the same set-up and like it ALOT! :thumbsup. There are things you can change if you want to save a little money and don't plan on getting too extreme later on. If you want to keep it a fast, dependable daily driver and not a track monster, you can go with a rewired walbro 190 and 550's. I also went with a 3" catback and am still running the stock dp and cat. If you do get a bigger dp and hiflo cat or test pipe, be prepared to do LOTS of porting to get rid of the boost creep. Mine creeps with the stock dp and an aftermarket dump. Not alot, but it does. I don't care cause 20psi feels nice. ;)

vandy said it all and was totally right. i have a similar setup. the evo16g is plenty of power for a daily driver, but you should learn how to drive your car before you start doing mods. the walbro 255 isn't much more expensive than the 190 and it still has potential for more boost on race gas when you take it to the track :) i'm tuned at 19psi with 680inj, MAF translator, 3in turbo back exhaust, SAFC, FMIC, and a boost/egt/ and a/f gauges. this is more than enough power to show a vette up. trust me. you will definetly need to do some pulls and invest in a datalogger. good luck.

he did say he wanted to keep it a daily driver and I think he would be better off with the setup I listed. If I had gone with the route Vandy listed, I'd have some MAJOR traction issues. My tires break loose now as soon as I hit full boost and I have an A/T. ;) If he has a 5-speed, 19 psi may get kind of scary on the street with a turbo that spools so fast. Don't forget, he's FWD... Another thing is, since you are running a SAFC, big injectors are guaranted to banjax the crap out of your airflow signal. This, in turn, is going to make your ignition timing get all whacky, and bad stuff happens. The easy solution to this, of course, is DSMLink. However, a Keydiver chip with injector compensation will also work well.
