i just got a 93 5 spd eclipse for 100$ good car but it gets no spark so it wont start. its the 1.8 sohc motor.. im thinkin it must need a new distributor but before i spend all that money to get one is there anything else i can check to see why it wouldnt be getting spark? fuses looked all good but it just gets nothin.. cap and rotor are brand new.. anything??

how do you know it doesnt get spark? what have you tested?

because i tested the plug wires with a bolt inside one to a ground and saw no spark at all.

orlly?
i would of left a spark plug in the wire and turned the lights off to see if the spark plug was sparking imo
