9520, why would just one of my injector plugs stop working?? Posted by 97grnRS, Nov-11-04 10:58 AM
well ive gotten almost all probs fixed with my 1.8 93 eclipse . but i found i had #2 cylinder dead. its getting spark but no fuel . but when i take another injector plug and plug it to the 2 injector it works.. so its the plug that goes to the #2 injector that isnt working right. why would this plug just die?? is it fused anywhere? all other 3 work fine? so i temporarily cut it off and tapped the wires into the injector next to it and it works fine. but will this hurt anything? ?? or will it be ok?

I dont know the answer to the question, but you might want to check out this site http://www.dsm1eights.com/. Just for future reference if you have 1.8 specific problems. Sorry I dont know the answer to your question.

Which plug did you tap into? If anything it should be the #3 wiring.
Don't ghetto fix things when it comes to cars though man. Fix it right. Get a new plug from a junkyard or something. I have never heard of an injector plug dying, but I guess anything is possible.

the prob is i dont think it is the plug that died.. its either the wire somewhere buried in the harness or the sending unit that sends voltage to the plug.. but yes i tapped into number 3injector to run power to both 3 and 2 . it seems to drive fine but i would like to find out why the one plug aint working.
