I just ordered a MAF Translator last night. My question is which GM MAF's will work with it?
What cars am I looking for? The 2.5 and 3" ones will work right??
WHich cars do these come off of and which years? I know some F-Bodies will work but which ones?
I need to start looking around the Junkyards lol

I saw a list awhile ago but can't remember where.
I do know that you can get a brand new 3" MAF from dsmparts.com for like $149.
If you want to use a junkyard MAF, it's up to you but if I was going to use a piece of electronics that the life of my car depended on, I'd just buy a new one...

3.5" LS1
3.625" LS6

Buy new. Used is the death of a DSM. Do it right, do it once. All that good stuff.

leave them. You won't outflow it.;)

3" is comparable to a 2G mas which can be outflowed (with a monster setup), but the 3.5" and 3.625" are basically unable to be outflowed on a streetable setup. Guys in the speed range of John Shepherd might have to worry about it, but more than likely they use the MAP sensor setup with intake temps, and full EMS. Either way 3" should be fine but if you think you'll make the car drag only one day, maybe getting the 3.5" now isn't a bad idea. One of those sites (fullthrottlespeed I think) sells the 2.5"->3.5" silicon couplers on that site, which should be needed for the 3.5" MAF in 2.5" piping. Easy install.

Leave the Honeycombs in, and make sure when you put it in, the sensor in the middle is straight up and down. It won't read correctly otherwise.

The 3.5" is MUCH easier to tune than the 3". That is the main reason for getting the 3.5 over the 3. You shouldn't outlflow the 3" unless you are running 25+psi out of some ridiculously huge turbo.

I have a MAF out of a 6.0L truck (considered one of the best) but it has four wires instead of three, any ideas on it working with the translator?
