9038, Crank and Rod bearings

What do I need to know before I buy new bearings for my 4g63 6bolt. Ive heard that the bearings may not all be the same size for each rod or crank journel. Is this true? My crank hasnt been turned. Im taking it to get cleaned and polished soon and Id like to get the crank rods and pistons back in the block.

Just get clevite bearings (Main and rod). It's about $100 for the set. Clevite is the way to go.

yeah thats what im going to get. I already ordered my arp bolts for the rods, crank, and head. I just didnt know if i needed to have anything measured before I ordered the bearings.\

EDIT: where do you recommend I order them from.

Generally the machine shop that is doing your work should have a contact to get the bearings basically at cost. Each of the shops I talked to about doing my work had clevite as one of their distributors. I'd try that avenue first.

just FYI, clevite's are softer than OEM bearings.
