Anyone ever had the problem of an oil squirter falling out & the engine losing oil pressure then number 1 rod bearing getting spun, oil pump locking up. Well that was the case with this, I built an engine a while back. While assmembling the bottom end the number 3 oil squirter was lightly grazing something, so after torqing all 4 down & noticing that 3 was hitting & just took it loose, well I just tightened it with a ratchet & not torque wrench. That was the whole problem. THIS IS JUST A REMINDER TO BE THOROUGH WHEN BUILDING/ REBUILDING AN ENGINE. Take the time, it's worth it. Just thought I'd share..... also, the reason for tearing the engine out was a chirping noise comming from near the oil pump.

i think taking your sweet time while rebuilding an engine is a give-in, but thanks for reinforcing that for the slow people.
