Can a 2g intake bolt up to a 1g head and vise versa?
I'm not totally sure what form of hermaphrodite motor my new GSX has in it, neither did the owner who doesn't know shit about cars, just had deep pockets, and the shop that did the work couldn't remember either since it was almost a year ago. So, I have a Cyclone intake on a 1g or 2g head, but I'd rather use my old 2g intake, will it bolt on to either 1g or 2g heads?
I'm sure I'll have many new questions since I don't know much about this car, so please bare with me while I figure it out.

Yes, but the 1g is better.
Got any pics of the car?

No pics yet, my digicam is broken, but she isn't as pretty as the last one, but she does have a fully built bottom end. Balanced, blueprinted, Ross pistons, eagle rods, new head, mls headgasket, ARP bolts all around, Frankenstein level 3 turbo, Apexi FMIC, 650cc injectors, 1 royally wasted clutch, and a crap ass exhaust system! This weekend I'm swapping on my act2600 and my TRE tranny, next, swap on the DSMlink, RRE downpipe w/ wbo2 and apexi N1 catback and my Apexi coilovers, then I will start to think about bolting on the GT35R with my goodies and have a hell of a time with this car.
I'll get pics as soon as someone else takes them or I get my camera fixed.

Wow, I don't think you'll be able to handle that power lol. And with those mods, at the least, keep the 1g manifold, consider extrude honed, and bigger injectors, and do you have any head mods?

You have to remeber that 1g and 2g 4g63's have very few differences with the motors, so everything bolts up. The difference is that the 1g has a bigger throttlebody, and has bigger ports on the intake and head, so it will flow more. The exhaust manifolds are identical, except the 2g is less prone to cracks. There are other differences as well, but for the most part everything is interchangeable.

2g exhaust manifolds flow better than 1g exhaust manifolds. EVO III beats them both.

Definately consider Extrude Honing a 1g intake manifold. My 1990 Talon has one and it's been one of the best mods ever. There was a test done to several intakes including a stock 1g. My opinion from that test was that a stock 1g intake is great for a street car without the need for tons of top end power, I wish they would have also tested an Extrude Honed 1g intake.
Here's a couple graphs:

Here's a post from DSMtuners that says a lot:
Anyway, to a serious reply: out of the entrants in that shootout, I think a few obvious manifolds emerged, depending on your needs. This is all BANME!; frankly, people should do their own analysis of the data, because there's some interesting stuff in there if you spend a few minutes with it.
If you need quick spool-up, the Hogans/Extreme manifold really shined here; it was significantly ahead of the rest in airflow increase vs. time. So far ahead, in fact, that I wonder if something was up with this test. For low-speed autocross use, this one looks like a winner to me.
Up top, the Venom dominated, no question about it. Just about the time the 1g intake is losing steam (6500 RPM), it starts to really shine, and doesn't show much sign of falling off anytime soon; they shut the testing down at just shy of 7800 RPM, and it was still trending upward. If you're regularly seeing 8000 RPM and up, this is the probably one for you, but only "real" drag racers need apply, I'd think.
For mid-range, the stock 1g manifold was very impressive. From 4700-6500 RPM, it really dominated the rest; looking a time-vs-airflow graph, it stands out, but once you look at RPM-vs-airflow, there's no question. The problem is, it takes a beating off the line, and past 6500 RPM it levels off (although I think the average person would have a hard time finding fault in 54-55lbs/min). If your regular operating range is 4500-6500, though, I'd have a hard time suggesting using anything else (think road racing, autocross, etc).
In the end, if you have a street car, I can't see you having much of a problem with the stock 1g manifold. Porting would probably help the top-end a bit, but I suspect that impressive midrange would become less so. It's really a shame they didn't have the time to do a stock 2g, extrude-honed 1g/2g, or Cyclone (one pass with runners closed, one with them open), because I think you'd find some interesting numbers from both the 2g and the Cyclone. But I'm just grateful for what they did have a chance to do.

But this is not a 1G manifold, it is a Cyclone Turbo Intercooler manifold. Is that better than a factor 2G, and it doesn't have all the right vacuum hoses and spots to hook up all the sensors.

Unless I am wrong, the Cyclone was from the eclipses in Japan. I believe most people switch them out for 1g intakes, but there are still a step up from the 2g intake. Someone else should comfirm this.

The Cyclone was once a hot item to get your hands on, then nobody had much luck with them and are not considered a good intake at all anymore. It may be a tad better than the 2g intake for overall flow, but your GT35R would benefit greatly from either a Magnus or Extrude Honed 1g intake. The 2g or Cyclone will essentially "choke" a large turbo.

Got that. Thank you.
