I have a 99 gst with K&N FIPK and a Greddy type-S BOV. I've noticed while stepping on the gas that I feel a very noticeable hesitation as I approach maximum boost. I just started noticing this after the type-S install, it hadn't done it with the stock BOV.

Sorry for the brief description, but my girlfriend typed it out for me over the phone. Just want to get some general ideas about what you guys think, because I won't be able to check here until later tonight. Thanks in advance.

Well I haven't been reading a whole ton in this forum so I may be way off, but I've heard the Greddy Type S has a tendency to leak under boost. What are you running boost wise? That might be it since it happened right after your install. The Greddy Type RS supposedly takes care of this according to the "what's new" section of last months Import Tuner.

Is the BOV properly adjusted? If you have it too loose it will open under higher boost and cause the problem you are experiencing. I hope you have it recirculated too...

Def make sure the BOV is adjusted right since you just put that on. Make sure you are reventing back into the intake.

If you are still having problems, check your spark plugs and wires. That just fixed my hesitation problem.

And while you're at it hack your intake dump tube.

ok, now that i can type instead of having my girlfriend try and do it...
i've tried adjusting it both ways, softer and harder...i've been trying for the past week to get it just right. i noticed that when i have it set harder, the hesitation gets worse. I adjusted it again this afternoon as i was leaving school...this time i made it a whole lot softer...didn't notice quite as much hesitation...but it still wasn't right. i think if i loosen it even more it'll probably start leaking boost..if it isn't already. i'm thinking about slapping the stock bov on for now since i really have no need for the type s...i just wanted to see what it was like with the type s on(seeing as the kid tossed it in with the car when he sold it). i'll be back if i still happen to be having the same problems with the stocker back on

How can you just "slap" on the Type S/Stocker??? Don't you have to have the intercooler pipe welded with the right flange??? Or was I just blessed when I bought my car?

my type s came with the adapter to fit into the stock ic piping. i ended up putting the stocker back on this afternoon and the car was back to normal.

Tighten the Type-S and try again. It isn't a plug and play device. It needs to be tuned a little bit.

Also, are you sure the gasket was flush and stopping a leak there as well?

yup, i went over everything...and i mean everything...a bunch of times...i'm sure i just need to take the time to tune it. like i said...i have the stocker on right now...and it's probably gonna stay on until i get some of the other stuff that needs to be done first. thanks for the replies though :thumbsup
