8310, Koyo radiators...anyone have experience?
Posted by BMPDirk, Jun-20-05 09:57 AM
My coolant temps are currently 210 while cruising. Ive been told by some that its slightly high so im looking for an alternative to lower my temps. My plans are to run a mix of water wetter/coolant/water, possibly sheet metal shrouding, and if i have to radiator.

Now, has anyone heard anything about these radiators? Or does anyone have any first hand experience with them? Ive read that these are 52mm while the Fluidyne's are only 38mm. Anyway, price is the same as Fluidyne, if anyone has some info it would be appreciated. Thanks.

If they cost the same and fluidine is a proven part, why take the chance? Furthermore, if its thicker, why risk fan/02 housing clearance issues?

Thank you, my thoughts exactly. And in fact they cost more than the Fluidyne anyway.

not this again....lol. If a radiator is a must, I would definately go with something that is proven to work. Most of the folk i know with aftermarket radiatros go with Fluidyne and people have runs 9s and even a couple in the 8s. That is all the confirmation i would need to know that they do the job they are supposed to do.

It's not the fact that you may have just discussed radiators, he was just asking if anybody has had experience with one, geez.

Also, bigbald, you just said in your post that i should go with something proven to work....but i recall the arguement you had with Jeff about it not being proven....which is it :P

Besides I don't consider a 9 or 8 sec car proving a radiator.

Tell me about a road racer or a guy on the street in 110+ heat like here in AZ.

I don't road race nor do i live in 110+ heat. So I don't measure things quite the same as you do.

So are you saying the Koyo Radiators can hold up to that?

No I'm not saying that at all, I'm just saying not to judge any aftermarket radiator on whether someone ran 9's or 8's because it's not comparable to the street and in traffic were most people are overheating.
