Well, went on a road trip with my girlfriend to a nearby mountain range and going up the mountain I blew my valve cover, cracked all over. Anyway, pull into a rest area for a bathroom break, push the clutch down and it doesn't disengage...pedal sticks to the floor. Tried pulling it back up off with my foot and it comes off, but the clutch does not disengage.

I had to pump the pedal a couple times to get it to come off. Went to the bathroom, came back out, drove up the mountain the rest of the way...pulled into Denny's for breakfast, it was stuck again...drove to the top of the mountain scenie route, stuck again...drove down the mountain, did it once more...

Now the clutch feels really loose. I checked the clutch fluid and it is topped off, right at the max line...

Do you guys think this is a serious threat of crankwalk?????

Car is still running fine...except for blowing oil on the exhaust manifold, but running fine???

Please help me.

generally, thats a sign of crankwalk if the car is taking a hard corner. Not when sitting still.
What you can do is open the hood and have someone watch for flexing when you push the clutch in.
And, how the hell did you do this?:

Don't know how I did anything...I was just driving up the mountain on cruise control at 80-85mph.



Yes I kept driving it like that, I was 180 miles away from my house.

If it was crankwalk, would the clutch stick all the time, just on hard cornering, or what??? It was doing that to me just driving up and down the mountain. It hasn't been doing it since I'm back from my trip, but the clutch still feels very loose. The normal pressure it had to push on the clutch is basically gone until I'm 1" off the floor, but the clutch still releases when the pedal is 1/2 pushed. :shrug

Does the car need to be running when I do the crankwalk test?

sounds alot like when my clutch slave went out. i had replaced the master, but i kept getting air in the line. i was bleeding the lines every weekend, fixed for a few days, but the pedal kept goin down. same as you just the last inch worked. any time i came back from a long trip (over 1.5 hours) at the first exit pedal stuck to floor.

Then it finally let go on the corner of a busy intersection, just blew the fluid all over the road. could not get into gear, ended up replacing the slave in the parking lot. no more issues after that.

not sure if this is your issue, but by your comments it sounds like the same thing. no visible leaks, but each time i blead it had alot of air bubbles. part was only $20 i should have just replaced it with the master.

Yeah sounds like your clutch slave or the Fork itself. Both of them are pieces of shit after a while of use. Mines did the exact same thing and it turned out to be the slave cylinder.

how do I bleed the clutch lines to check for that???

I bleed mine's the same way I bleed the brakes. Take a look at it and see if any fluid is leaking from it. That will tell you if it is shot right there.

tools needed
brake fluid, silicone hose (drain fluids), empty bottle, 10mm wrench, and a buddy.

on the slave there is bleed screw, hook a silicone hose up to it, run other line into bottle half full of brake fluid.
1. pump pedal a few times, hold pedal to floor.
2. with pedal still on floor, slowly turn bleed screw, some air bubble should surface in the bottle.
3. close bleed screw
4. now the pedal will be resting on the floor, pull it back and pump it a few times. it will take fluid from the resivor, make sure you top this off each cycle
5. repeat until you see no more air bubbles
