I PMed a member here about running DSMLink and using strickly a MAP sensor, no MAF. I don't want to use a MAF; I'm not going to explain, because if you don't know, then I don't want you to post.

I apologize if this is a newb question about Link, but I'm trying to learn to understand more about it before it's sent off. This is what's screwing with me off the User Guide......

"If USE MAP is selected, DSMLINK will factor in the value it sees on the Manifold Differential Pressure (MDP) sensor line as though it were manifold pressure (boost) signal. On 1Gs, this feature uses the EGR temp input. This assumes that you have fed an appropriate pressure signal into the appropriate input line to the ECU."......Must I still use the MAF sensor or FAKE MAF feature to run this?

What complicates things even more for me is that DSMLink states something about a bypass of the MAF sensor completely (?!?!?). Finally, yes you bigbald, there's a GM3Bar MAP sensor that is used with DSMLink.......must use MAF and MAP together??

Ontop of all this, I emailed Link themselves trying to help me along with all of this. They shot an email back saying that they're working on this feature (running only MAP sensor). Can anyone confirm this in their next release?

lol....you lost me.

All I can tell you is that as of right now, you need a MAF or MAS on your car to properly run DSMLink. Yes they are working on a MAP only system but there is no time frame for that release date.

I'm lost with what the Guide has about FAKE MAF and USE MAP.

Can you tell Link to stop reading the MAF at say 2000rpm and have it start reading MAP right there??

Moreover, can I hack the shit out of it so that it's only the resistor??......I'm not a fan of this sensor.

if i am talking about the proper item, you tell it to change over at a certain hertz, user definable. it goes by airflow, not by rpms.

Its not used the way he is thinking. The is dicussed in detail on the DSMlink forums. The only thing i can tell you is to contact Dave and/or Tom about that and tey can better explain that to you.
