Alright! After just about 3 hours I got my wideband installed, wires ran through the firewall, now I just need to find a really good place to mount it, but at least it is working.

But, I've read different things in different places...what A/F do I want to run???

Driving around in cruise, or just around town and at idle, I'm bouncing right around 14.7, which I believe is stoich, so I'm okay there. When I'm at full throttle, in each gear it acted the same, I'm right around 10.75-11.25 all the time when I'm boosting. Is this a pretty good range? I've heard to tune for 12.0 to be save, and I've heard I could really agressively tune for 9.0 for more umph.

What do you guys think?

Don't worry Big Bald, I'll be wiring it into DSMlink probably this weekend as soon as I finish up on reading how to do it, and decide which way I want to do it.

You can't do anything about cruising a/f Ratio. WOT is what you can control. Typically 11.1 - 11.5 on pump gas and 12.1 - 12.5 on VP c16. That is all typically....it will vary depending on what you want to accomplish.

As fas as installing it goes....use your rear o2 input.

Will the engine run any different if I use the front o2 input?? Why should I use the rear?? This is the stuff I'm trying to research.

1. Did you remove the Front o2 and place the Wideband in there? Not a good idea....on Turbo Charged Vehicles, the o2 should be at least 36" from the output of the turbo...any closer and it will overheat.

2. The Front o2 uses a 0-1v output...the wideband can provide that for you if you want it too. To read the actual wideband into DSMLink, you need to use the 0-5v output line. Feed that into the rear o2 input at the ecu.

I would suggest searching the link board if you are really unsure. YOu need to know all the 0-5 Inputs you can use. You are limited beign you still have alot of stock parts.

Stock block and internals, but just about everything else is aftermarket, except the MAS.

That stuff doesn't matter....what matters is the inputs on the ECU. For one, using a GM Maft setup frees up two inputs on the ECU. Disabling the rear o2 check frees up another input on the ECU. Dumping the MDP Sensors frees up anohter as well as dumping Emiisons. This is stuff which i don't think you have done.

Where did you put the Wideband at?

Right now it is just sitting under my stereo head unit. I didn't want it in headsup view all the time, because for the most part I'm not driving around at WOT. Also, I'll have it setup with DSMlink soon enough to log what I'm doing to tune and then I don't really need it at all. It is still visible enough I can see it, especially when it spits out RICH and LEAN AIR displays.

Where is the actual sensor...not the guage.

The sensor is sitting about 8" in front of the cat. The instructions said to place it at least 24" away from the turbo exhaust outlet and it is about 26-28" away. It faces straight up right behind the firewall.

I'd say to put it in the glove compartment. Someone breaks in, they'll want that. It's perfect for you, since you don't want to see it. It'll be right infront of the person that's helping you tune (if you're street tuning). If you'd like to see the values once and awhile, splice in a gauge to it.

I'm really not that concerned about seeing the values. I can see them fine right now where is it, and I don't care to have the value in my face in a gauge, or with a nice blinking light either. Once I get the car tuned I may just hide it under the passenger side dash anyways. I really just want it to plug into DSMlink so I can incorporate the value with my logs so I can see where i'm leaning out, richening up, or where I can do either of those.

All I really needed was a good safety device to get me ready for my new turbo and bigger injectors, just to make sure I don't blow anything up before I actually mean to.

Now I just need a good place to put my new boost controller...what do you guys think about the center console? That way I can flip the cover down on it whenever I want...gotta keep thinking about that one...that would be a long way away from the turbo to be putting the controller though.
