So I was pounding seals into place today and I pounded my oil pump seal in a little crooked. I straightened it out but now on one side, the outside lip is showing (the lower outside lip stayed where it was, and the upper outside lip started moving down). The other side is flush against the grove. Should I take it out and try it again? Buy a new seal and try it again? Or just leave it. A second opinion from my autoshop teacher said it was fine, but thats just an opinion.

Put it this way, it could be fine if you left it, but do you want to have to go and do it again later if it's not?
I'd just get a new one and do it right for peace of mind. An engine is a terrible thing to waste.

Third person who I've gotten that response from haha. Im going to try and find a place that will overnight me a new one. (Overnight parts from Japan, d00d!!!1)
