7531, Mating 6 bolt to 2g AT

I don't know much about auto transmissions. But unfortunately I have one. I need to mate it to my 6 bolt block. I've been researching, and I think I need to use an adapter kit to mate the two together (it's a 95 AT if it helps). IPT is the only kit that I can find out there. Does anyone else know of another kit I can take a look at or if I even need a kit?

Thank you. -Corey

I think the only thing to worry about between blocks and transmissions is that automatic blocks have a ring around the flywheel:

This needs to be installed if you have a manual block and you are putting on an automatic tranny, or it needs to be removed if you are installing a manual tranny onto an automatic block. Other than that, I don't think there are any more differences.

It's the cast aluminum piece that has 5 bolts in it?

Can I use the ring that's on my 7 bolt, and put in on the 6 bolt?

I don't see why they would change the ring itself from year to year, so I guess as long as it fits, then yes. I don't know the procedure for installing it, just how to remove it, so you may want to check that out as well. Getting a new one from the dealer would be another good option.
