7398, Problem with timing belt cover Posted by FlyinEsi, May-31-06 06:17 AM
The one I ordered will not fit!!! The website says it will fit all 1990-1999 turbo eclipses, but I'll be damned, mine doesn't!!
The one I got is a 1 piece lower cover, but I think I'm supposed to have 2 lower pieces and 1 upper piece...is that correct? This cover will not go over the motor mount, not even close, and I just think I got the wrong one, can anyone confirm?
Thanks!

you got a 1g 1 piece timing belt cover ... the motor mounts are different so the timing cover is different.

And yes, you do need a two piece cover (along with the top piece as well). I actually have a custom made 4 piece one ;-)

the 1g is one piece lower, one piece upper. never messed with a 2g, they suck.

you have to cut the 1g timing cover to fit the mount.....true story.
