6836, DAMN ALT BELT!!!!!!!! Posted by scorpo86, Apr-27-07 04:10 PM i have a 97 GST. i'm trying to replace the alternator belt but the belt will not fit. i went back to the automotive place a checked if was the right one and it was. i have been trying to put the damn thing on for hours and still will not fit. i was wondering if anyone had the same problem

Takes 2secs What he said. Um, how many bolts are you loosening up? Does your alternator tilt toward the engine when you do loosen them?
