i have a 1998 GST and it as running fine and all of the sudden i went into 3rd gear and got to 4000 RPM and it started jerking really bad and my car died... after cranking her up 2 or 3 more times trying to get to a good place to stop my CEL came on... i had little oil but enough to get home and put more in... my mechanic says its the CAM SENSOR... any helllp or suggestions that it MIGHT be???

do you know what codes came up. the code for the cam angle sensor is P0340. when the ecu detects a problem with the cam sensor it will cut the fuel.

If its in all gears it might be a the TPS.
