ok i try and start the 90 gsx but she tries to start but dies.... i have spark and just replaced the wires tonight.... shot some engine start in and it cranked over but wouldn't stay on..... any one have any ideas... the plugs are new and gapped right and a new fuel pump was put in two weeks ago.... i'm stumped... could it be my injectors or water in the fuel....
any help is appreciated

Hate to say this but could be an ECU problem.:-(

Cam angle sensor....It's worth a shot. That was my issue a while back.

yeah could be the ECU. i had the same problem would start and idle for like 10 seconds and them just die. i had an extra ECU and swapped it and it raan fine. just find a local DSMer in your club to borrow an ECU from.

how long has it sat for? my car sat for 2 months and then it absolutely would not start. it would crank over fine though. i tried jumpstarting it tons of times and it wouldnt. i finally called a tow truck guy and he insisted on jump starting it. after 40 minutes of trying to jump start it and me calling the tow truck driver an idiot, it started.

needles to say i gave that tow truck driver a bigass tip and spent the rest of the day embarrassed...

it hasesnt sat at all... it wouldn't start for me when i came out of the pizza place so i had it towed... thought it was the exaust manifold cause i say the bolt broke off and when we went to start it it blew smoke from it so i replaced that and then it still wouldn't start.... thought it was my coil checked that and it was fine.... replaced the wires and plugs and tries to crank over but sputters for a few seconds and then dies. The cam angle sensor was replaced in the end of Apr.... it almost seems like it's now getting fuel...... but i pulled the plugs cranked it over to blow what ever was in there but it won't start...
only thing is that i filled her up that morning and only drove about 10 miles on that tank and i was on empty when i filled it. and that is when it did it...
any other ideas

how empty was the tank? Maybe you stirred up enough shit to clog your fuel filter...

ECU caps. You don't need a new ECU, just the $1.25 caps. (probably cheaper than that too.) Any stereo repair shop can replace them. www.digikey.com has them.

jeff what is the exact part name on that site.....
also i pulled the return line and attached a line and filled up a plastic bottle so i am getting fuel back on the rail..... should i just pull the ecu and swap out those caps....

is there any difference with the 5902 model found on the 90 gsx and the 5903 found on the 90 talon awd

ok i found out the 5902 model is the cali one...... is there a difference from the cali one and every other one

go to dsmtuners and go to the classifieds. stickied at the top is a thread about a guy giving away like 35 sets of caps for free. all you need to do is send him a S.A.S.E. to get a set.

can i be sure that this is the provlem with my ecu.... cause it takes a few days to send out an ecu for rebuild but it is half of a new one, but if i can be sure that it's the caps then i'll replace them

damn that guy sucks at electronics... my dad is an electrion... and he taught me alot of shit. he cant solder

God Damm it this car is costing me a mint!!!! this damm new ecu is costing me 400bucks...... but the good thing is i get a 1yr war. on it.

hahaha, me and jeffers told jooz so! :P anyways i cut a square in my ecu case and put a cpu fan on it to keep my caps cooler. :7

it was more than the caps i think the whole board was fried..... that is why i couldn't do the caps only.... should have done the caps a long time ago.........

werd! i've seen caps eat a board like a triscuit. :o

eh.......... have you even tried the fuel filter yet....... id try that anyday before i mess with the ecu,weve all seen car perform like crap or not run at all because of a bad FF, hell so honda's wont even do Vtec with a cloged FF.
try that first, i do understand that the ecu caps can go out, but its not likey to do that after a fill up, but its a dsm id put nothing past it.
