Can the engine and tranny be installed into the car together, or do they have to go in individually? I took them apart when I removed them, but i didn't even think about if they could stay together. I'm sure this is probably a noob question, and yes I am a noob to the 4g63. So please help out a noob, thanks.

Jeff and I will be installing my engine and trann all assembled this weekend. It should work as far as I know, but I will update for sure after Sunday when we have tried it.

You will need an engine hoist, but it will work.

Ok, It's after sunday, did the install work. Oh and also does your car have ABS? It looks like it might cause a little trouble.

Do yourself a favor and rip the ABS out now while the engine is out. It will take maybe an hour depending on how rusted the lines are. It is worth it and makes life much easier. The early ABS systems were garbage anyway.

When installing the engine, lower the tranny down first so it slides in place. Put a jack under the tranny and lift it a bit so the engine rotates down toward the driver side of the car. It is pretty straight-forward.

Welp, I put the engine and tranny in today before I ever read this. Your right it is pretty straight forward. I knew you had to tilt the tranny down, but i did it without the jack under there. I guess I'll try taking the abs off it doesn't work anyways. I didn't start till mid afternoon, but it's coming along pretty smoothly. I can't wait until I get this rebuilt engine and tranny broke in}(. I'll probably finish up the install tomorrow, but I'm still waiting on a TB. How did your install go, and why did you have it out in the first place?
