Last time I talked to shep, he told me that he made some new shift forks for the 4g guys, finally! some really good ones, he gaurenteed that they wouldnt break. There has been a bunch of different shift forks that have been made already, the stock ones of course, steel evo shift forks, the billet ones and now these. They are Chrome moly so they are strong as hell. Just wanted to inform everyone because thats the reason I broke 3 of my transmissions. Prob the most weak part about our trannies. IMO.

It is totally one of the weakest points. If/when I need a tranny rebuild it will go to shep.

I had Shepherd use stock shift forks in my tranny. Don't slam the gears and they will be fine. He told me on the phone that you really only need beefed up forks if you abuse your tranny and slam gears really hard. I am rather easy on my tranny so I went with the stockers and they have been wonderful.

But by all means, if you choose to slam your gears, go with the upgraded forks.

For obvious reason, I guess I shift to hard since I did break 4 trannies, all of them relating to the shift forks. Shep did tell me I would be fine with the OEM shift forks but hell for 150 bucks more I wanted the extra security.
